ChatPack Privacy Policy

What ChatPack does

ChatPack is a local-first browser extension for creating conversation and notebook archives. It runs only after you invoke it on the active tab and asks the browser for access to that tab for the requested capture.

Information handled

To create an archive, ChatPack reads page content mounted in the active tab and processes it in your browser. Archive content, message text, attachments represented in the page, and verification evidence are stored locally in the browser. Depending on the selected page, this content may include names or other identifying details and private communications. Exports are generated on your device.

Information we receive

The 0.6.1 open edition does not send conversation content, archive files, verification records, browsing history, cookies, account credentials, or authentication tokens to ChatPack. It does not include analytics or a developer-server connection.

Storage and deletion

Your archives remain in your browser and files you export remain wherever you save them. You can remove local archive data from ChatPack or clear the extension's browser storage. Deleting an archive in ChatPack does not delete a file you previously downloaded.

Third-party services

ChatPack is independent of the AI websites you visit. Those services apply their own privacy practices to their accounts and pages. ChatPack does not read cookies or intercept account or network tokens.

Payments and Premium licenses

ChatPack Premium is offered as a one-time purchase for ¥12.90 through Afdian and payment services selected by that platform. Afdian handles checkout, payment confirmation, and refund requests under its terms. The ChatPack developer does not directly collect or process card numbers, bank credentials, or payment-account passwords.

To redeem and activate a purchase, the ChatPack service receives the private redemption token, a browser-generated retry secret, the activation code, and an extension-generated installation identifier. The service stores hashed redemption and activation values, ticket status and timestamps, and up to two installation identifiers and signed licenses per purchase. A short-lived, keyed hash of the network address is used for rate limiting; API requests purge rate-limit windows older than five minutes. The licensing service does not receive conversation text or archive files.

One Premium code can be bound to at most two browser installations. Refund requests are handled through Afdian. After a refund, the seller can revoke the corresponding redemption record to block future claims or activations; a signed offline license already issued cannot be remotely recalled.

Changes and contact

The open edition remains local-first and does not include Premium activation. The optional commercial edition uses the licensing data practices described above; conversation content still stays in your browser and is not sent to the licensing service. Support requests use a public issue tracker; do not post conversation text, private screenshots, account credentials, authentication codes, or other sensitive information.
